Unemployment or Opportunity

, by Stress(-)

Bills bills bills...

That's the bell that rang in my head when I was first unemployed. It is said that worrying cannot solve any situation and that is true. Like myself you have probably sent your resume to numerous employers, so many you probably have lost count. Out of frustration of getting no job offers, I decided to just wait for a response. In the midst of waiting I began to discover a lot about myself and began to realize that there are other ways to make money until the job comes. I called my insurance company and other companies I owed and explained my situation to them. They were able to give me an extension.

I began to think of creative ways to make money on the side. I began doing one time event jobs that were out of my field which gained me more experience and allowed me to network with people. I started taking myself more seriously, so I wrote out all the ideas that came to my head and made a business plan on how I would get them done. I got more involved in my community and this opened more doors to network with other individuals that were able to refer me to there company. During this period of unemployment I learned what it really means to budget and that I am a true entrepreneur at heart.

Here are list of great things to keep you busy while you wait for a job:

 1. Start an idea journal: No idea or invention is too small

 2. Start a blog of an area of interest or an area of expertise. For income place ads on your blog from Google

3. Sign up to work different events in your area. They are one time gigs that pay really well. Craigslist-gigs-events

4. Take better care of your body: Go running around your neighborhood or a close by park(great way to network).
